Summary
GNU is turning 30, and you're invited to the festivities.
Abstract
Join us at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts on September 28 and 29 to celebrate the GNU Project's world-altering accomplishments with cake and coding. Of course, it wouldn't be a GNU Project event without an eye to the future. The 30th anniversary hackathon will focus on two important needs for free software in today's Web-based world: federated publishing and communication services, and tools to protect privacy and anonymity. Featuring remarks from GNU founder Richard Stallman, GNU's 30th will be an opportunity for free software legends and enthusiastic newcomers to tackle important challenges together while celebrating the GNU Project's success. Registration is now open and admission is gratis, though donations are encouraged to defray the costs of cake and coffee.
